Elaine M. Lind, age 84, formerly of Rapid River, died Tuesday afternoon, September 2, 2008, at the Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, CA. following a short illness.

Elaine was born April 16, 1924, in Rapid River, and attended and graduated from the Rapid River High School. She went on to attend the Augustana School of Nursing eventually becoming a 1st Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corp. during WWII.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna (Lagerquist) Lind and a brother, Wendell “Bob” Lind.

Survivors include her brother, Dean Lind of Frankfurt, Germany and a sister, Mary Lee Rice of Rapid River.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Elaine M. Lind will be held on Wednesday September 10, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Rapid River with Rev. Stephen Gauger officiating. Committal services will follow at the Rapid River Cemetery.
