Olive C. Johnson, age 93, of 1324 Minnesota Avenue, Gladstone, passed away Monday evening October 24, 2008 at the Christian Park Health Care Center in Escanaba where she was a resident.
Olive was born March 18, 1915 in Ensign the daughter of Conrad and Carrie (Goodman) Lindquist. Olive was united in marriage to Henning Johnson on August 8, 1936 and he preceded her in death on December 6, 1987.
Olive enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, and working in her flower garden. Olive was an excellent cook and she had cooked at many of the local restaurants, and for the Christian Park Center and Village. She was a member of the Grace Church in Gladstone.

Corrine (Spencer) Nunemaker of Prior Lake, MN
Wendy (Robert) Manthey of Maple Grove, MN
Bruce (Corine) Johnson of Lino Lakes, MN
Jennifer (Jeff) Haase of Fruitport, MI
26 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Olive was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Wallace Lindquist and Titus Chaulklin, and 2 sisters, Lenora Stevenson and Freda Foster.
Olive’s family will receive friends on Friday November 28, 2008 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Grace Church in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Olive C. Johnson will follow at 4:00 PM at the Grace Church with Rev. Dr. Stephen Patrick officiating. Luncheon will follow services in the Grace Fellowship Hall. Burial will be in the Rapid River Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Olive may be directed to the Grace Church or the Great Lakes Baptist Church Conference “Ishpeming Church Plant”.
