Jerry “Jake” Godfrey, 79, of 7491 26th Road, Rapid River, passed away Wednesday morning December 10, 2008 at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Jerry was born February 13, 1929 in Gladstone the son of Charles and Flossie (Pelkey) Godfrey. Jerry served his country in the U.S. Army. Jerry is the former owner of the Lincoln House, Jerry’s Tree Service and Godfrey Trucking.

Suzanne Gutierrez of Gladstone

2 brothers;
Lyle (Carol) Godfrey of Brampton
Everette (Beverly) Godfrey of Escanaba
3 sisters;
Dorothy and Alice Micheau of Gladstone
Evelyn (Mike) Bricholz of Gladstone
17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his,
Wife; Lois Mae (Olson) on July 10, 2003
10 brothers; Art, Merlan, Walter, Harrison, Robert, William, Theodore, Irving, Peter and Ralph.

Memorial services celebrating the life of Jerry “Jake” Godfrey will be held on Monday December 15, 2008 at 3:00 PM at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Gladstone with Rev. Carol Clark officiating. Visitation and luncheon will follow services at the Gladstone American Legion Hall. Burial with military rites will in the spring of 2009 at Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone.
