Eleanor F. Grenholm, a long time resident of Escanaba, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, December 4, 2008 at the age of 96.

Known for her sweet and gentle nature by all, she will also be remembered for her love of family and her love of card games, especially bridge. Formerly an active member in many social and charitable groups including Escanaba Women’s Club  and St. Joseph Parish, she also found time for traveling and spending pleasurable days with family and friends. An alumnus of Munising High School and St. Theresa’s College in Winona, MN, she had a great love and respect for academia and classical music.

Eleanor was the beloved wife of the late George A. Grenholm, the loving mother of Gary (Kate, dec), Jon (dec), Veronica Fayette, and Stephen (Patty); beloved grandmother of Andrea, Nicole, James, John and Laura.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service which will be held in early spring at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba. Interment and services at Gardens of Rest Cemetery are private. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Bishop Noa Home.
