Norma (Phylis) Rivord, 71, of the Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba (formerly of Skandia) passed away Thursday afternoon December 11, 2008 at the Bishop Noa Home where she had been a resident for the past year.
Norma was born January 4, 1937 in Marquette the daughter of Norman and Winifred (Huff) Norr. Norma attended Marquette High School prior to being united in marriage to Eldon Rivord. Norma and Eldon had resided in Harvey, Negaunee, Skandia and New Mexico before settling in Skandia. Norma had resided in Arizona from 1980 to July of 2007 when she returned to the Upper Peninsula.
Norma was a cook at several nursing homes in Marquette and she also cooked at Northern Michigan University. Norma and Eldon were also foster parents for many young children.
Norma’s hobbies included riding motorcycles and horses.

Son; Robin (Cathy) Rivord of Prescott, AZ
3 sisters; Carol (John) Small of Gladstone, Charlotte Mumpower of Skandia, and LaVerne (Jerry) Foster of Molalla, OR
Numerous nieces and nephews
Norma was preceded in death by her father, Norman and husband, Eldon.
Private memorial services will be held for Norma on Monday December 15, 2008 at the Rock Bible Chapel in Rock with Rev. John Small officiating.
