Carlos R. Tervo, age 44, of 501 South 13th Street, Escanaba, died Wednesday December 10, 2008, at his home, following a battle with cancer.
 
Carlos was born July 25, 1964, in El Paso, TX, the son of Charles and Aurora (Garceau) Tervo.  He was raised in Grand Rapids , MI and attended the Grand Rapid School system.  Carlos relocated to Escanaba in 1980.  On October 29, 1981, Carlos was united in marriage to the former Arlene Lehtonen and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Escanaba.  Carlos was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, pa pa and friend.  He is remembered for his caring, loving and kind ways, always thinking of others before himself.  He was an independent, reliable person who continuously strived to make others happy.  He enjoyed biking, watching football, coaching basketball at Washington School , spending time and playing games with his family.  He attended Agape Ministries, in Escanaba and will be sadly missed by his family and friends, but, his memories live on in all of their hearts.

Daughters:  Linda Tervo of Humble, TX
                     Amanda, Kristy and Kelly Tervo all of Escanaba, MI

Sister:  Debra Tervo of El Paso , TX

Sister in law:  Hilma Lehtonen of Escanaba , MI

In addition, Carlos is survived by, 6 grandchildren, nieces, nephew, cousins and friends. 
 
Carlos was preceded in death by his father Charles. 
 
Carlos’ family will receive friends on Monday from 12:00PM to 2:00PM at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba.  Funeral services celebrating the life of Carlos R. Tervo will follow visitation, at 2:00PM, at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home, with Pastor Art Kievit of the Agape Ministries Church officiating.  Luncheon will follow at the Agape Ministries Church Fellowship Hall.
