James Becker

James “Jim” R. Becker, age 47, of 1407 Michigan Avenue; Gladstone passed away unexpectedly and suddenly of an apparent heart attack on Thursday, February 26th, 2009.

Jim was born in Chicago the son of Charles Richard Becker and the former Eva June Lawson on October 15th, 1961 and was raised in Romeoville, Illinois. Having resided in the Chicago area for a number of years, he later relocated to  Manistique, Michigan in 1994. Since April of 2008, he has lived in Gladstone.

Jim was currently employed as a truck driver for St. Jacques Transportation Company.

Fishing, watching western movies and programs, and in earlier years, traveling were some of his favorite enjoyments and past-times. However, his main priority was his family and he was proud to be a family-man. His family and friends fondly remembers his sense of humor and his ability to tell jokes.
Jim Becker’s survivors include:

His wife, the former Dorothy C. Gomar, whom he married May 5th, 1989 in Illinois.

2 Sons- Augustus (Sally) Shiverdecker of Cooks, MI; Russell (Paula Jacques) Shiverdecker of Escanaba, MI

1 Brother- Thomas “Tucker” (Linda) Becker of Lockport, ILL

2 Sisters- Susan (William) Rednour of Arizona; Billie Jo Cano of Crown Point, Indiana

10 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Richard Becker, Jr.
Private visitation for Jim Becker was held on Saturday at the Skradski Funeral Home.
