Westley “Clark” Brooks, age 73, of 2677 West Maple Ridge Road, Rock, passed away Tuesday morning, February 24, 2009 at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.

Westley Clark Brooks was born May 13, 1935 in Royal Oak, MI. the son of Forest and Blanche (Biggs) Brooks. He was raised in Royal Oak and he was a graduate of Dondero High School. Following graduation, Clark served in the Michigan National Guard. His working career began in Ferndale, MI where he was a self employed cabinet maker. He later worked for Clark Equipment for 25 years. He again became self employed rebuilding and working on Hilo transmissions. Following the death of his 2nd wife, Jacquelyn in 1997, Clark moved to Rock where he enjoyed his retirement.

Clark loved the outdoors where he could enjoy watching wildlife. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, baking and traveling. Clark was Lutheran by faith and he was well known for his venison jerky. He continued his gift of working with wood, making wood clocks and handmade lamps. Clark treasured spending time with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed.

In addition to his life- long companion, Donna Kossow and her daughter, Terri (Kossow) Pfiester, survivors include;

Sons; Westley Clark Brooks II of Allen Park, MI and Lawrence Thomas (Georgia) Brooks of Shelby Twp, MI.

Daughter; Kimberly Marie (Thomas) Moore of Troy, MI

8 grandchildren: Eric Brooks of Sterling Heights, Danielle Brooks of Allen Park, Travis, Ashley, Angela, Leola Brooks, all of Shelby Twp, MI. and Ann Marie and Ryan Moore of Troy, MI.

In addition to his parents and 2nd wife, Clark was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Hager.

According to Clark’s wishes, no visitation or funeral services will be held.
