Thomas G. “Maestro” Andree, age 53, of 9104 Stagecoach Q.5 Avenue; Gladstone passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 12th, 2009 in Green Bay, Wisconsin of an apparent heart attack while traveling on business.
Tom was born October 1st, 1955 in Grand Rapids, the son of George and Eleanor (Webb) Andree and was raised in Sparta, Michigan. After graduating from Sparta High School in 1973, he attended Michigan Technological University in Houghton studying forestry. He later transferred to Grand Valley University and majored in music. However, he subsequently transferred back to “Tech” and received his computer degrees.
On July 1st, 1978, Tom was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, the former Maralee A. Schmidt in Comstock Park, Michigan. During his working career, Tom and his family have lived in numerous locations, including Grand Rapids, and Saudi Arabia for two years. Upon returning to the U.S., they settled in Ohio and in 1988, Tom and his family relocated to Gladstone. He currently is employed for Advanced Service Providers of Green Bay.
Tom was an active member of Silver Winds Church of Escanaba and a former member of the “Remnants”, a local “barber-shopper” musical group. Music was a lifelong passion for Tom, and he enjoyed composing music and playing the guitar as well as listening to all types of music, including contemporary Christian and most recently a new interest in country music.
In addition to his wife, Maralee, Tom Andree survivors include:
2 Sons- Kurt Andree of Chicago; Thomas (Heather) Andree of Escanaba
his mother, Eleanor Andree of Sparta, MI
1 Brother- James Andree of Florida
1 Sister- Belva (Charles) LeBeck of Delton, MI
and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a 17 month old son, Ben.
The family of Thomas G. Andree will receive friends on Monday at the Silver Winds Church in Escanaba from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Services celebrating Tom’s life will follow on Monday at 5:00 p.m. at the Silver Winds Church with Rev. Art Radlicki officiating. Everyone is invited to luncheon following services. Burial will be in the spring at the Rapid River Cemetery. The Skradski-Boyce Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Andree family.
