Debra Ann “Debbie” Anderson, age 51, of 6652 I Road; Escanaba (Hyde/ Riverland area), passed away following a brief illness on Thursday morning, April 2nd, 2009, at home  with many family members at her side.

On January 17th, 1958, Debbie was born to Francis and Janet (Nicholas) LaChapelle in Escanaba was raised in Gladstone and attended Gladstone Schools. She had lived in numerous locations in the Upper Peninsula , and was currently residing at her present location with her husband, Dale Anderson, whom she married June 12th, 2004.

Debbie was last employed by the Island Resort and Casino for 6 years and was presently working as a “prep cook”. In addition to enjoying her job, Debbie had a number of pastimes and pleasures. They included making jewelry, crocheting, doing puzzles, playing “Bingo”, and reading. But nothing compared to her greatest enjoyment and love as spending time with her children and grandchildren.  
In addition to her loving husband, Dale Anderson, Debbie leaves to survive:

4 Sons-Jason Kohnert of Menominee; Nathan (Millie) Kohnert of Newberry; Jesse Rhodes of Green Bay, WI; Dale Anderson, Jr. of Mt Pleasant, MI

2 Daughters- Heather Gray of Escanaba; Joyce Castellon of Mt Pleasant, MI

5 Sisters- Dawn (Ernest) Desilets of Lake Placid, FLA; Dana (Robert) Graham of Hillsbro, TN; Diana Anderson of Escanaba; Francene (Joseph) Millender of Victorville, CA; LeAnne LaChapelle of Spokane, WA

11 grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her grandparents and her mother, Janet, Debbie was preceded in death by a sister, Denise Laird

The family of Debbie Anderson will receive friends on Monday at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Services celebrating Debbie’s life will follow on Monday at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Lewis Hague officiating.
