Dympna A. M. Grenier. age 87, of 1215 Wisconsin Avenue; Gladstone passed away Saturday, May 23rd, 2009 at the Christian Park Center in Escanaba where she was a patient for a brief period of time.
Dympna was born in Gladstone, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Boyle) Heric on July 31st, 1921 and was raised in the Ogontz area. After her 1939 graduation from the Rapid River High School, she moved to Escanaba.
On August 19th, 1941, Dympna married Lawrence C. Grenier in Escanaba and they subsequently lived in Gladstone where they raised their family. Lawrence died April 25th, 2008. In her early life, she was employed for Montgomery Ward Company in Escanaba for a few years.
Camping, hunting, and fishing with family members were some of Dympna favorite past-times and hobbies and they hold many memories for those involved. She was also a longtime member of All Saints Church.
Dympna Grenier’s survivors include:
3 Sons- Lawrence John (Sue) Grenier of Gladstone; Robert Henry Grenier of Kentucky; Daniel Clayton (Anne) Grenier of Gladstone
4 Grandchildren-Michael (Lisa) Grenier of Holland; Cathy Grenier of Minnesota; Pamela Sue (Luke) LaPlant of Gladstone; John Paul Grenier of Gladstone
and by nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Gerald (Doreen) Lewis of Marquette.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Lawrence, Dympna was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and John Heric and by two sisters, Margarite Lewis and Frances Weiks.
The family of Dympna Grenier will receive friends on Tuesday at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at All Saints Church with Rev. Fr. Arnold Grambow officiating. Luncheon will follow services in the All Saints Parish Hall. Burial will be in the Fernwood Cemetery. The Skradski-Boyce Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Grenier family.
