Sue Carol (Raison) Alperovitz, age 72, of 1117 1st Avenue South, Escanaba, passed away Thursday evening June 11, 2009 at the Elder Inn in Rapid River where she currently was a resident.
Sue was born April 24, 1937 the daughter of Gerald and Ruth (Boyle) Shirk in Manistique, MI.
Sue worked and volunteered for many years at Christian Park. She also was a Senior Companion at Northwood’s Assisted Living. She also enjoyed being an Avon Representative for over 25 years. She enjoyed caring for others, making crafts, sewing, traveling with friends and her former husband, David Alperovitz, and she enjoyed time with her family.
Survivors include:
2 sons; Mike (Michelle) Worley of Gladstone and Randy (Debbie) Worley of Phoenix, AZ.
Brother: Allen (Connie) Shirk of Gladstone
4 grandchildren: April, Nicole, Randy Jr., and Megan Worley
2 great grandchildren: Kloee and Destiny Worley
Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and several very special friends.
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her son, Johnny and granddaughter, Chelsie.
Sue’s family will receive friends on Tuesday June 16, 2009 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba. Visitation will end with a closing prayer at 6:00 PM. A complete obituary will be forthcoming on Monday.
