Alda E. Anderson, age 82, of 1214 Willow Road; Gladstone (Kipling area) passed away on Monday, June 22nd, 2009 at the Christian Park Village in Escanaba.
Alda was born May 2nd, 1927 in Stonington, the daughter of Swedish heritage parents, Andrew John Leadman and the former Alice Anderson, was raised on the family farm in Stonington and attended Stonington Schools. On October 5th, 1946, Alda was united in marriage to Arnie Anderson at First Lutheran Church in Gladstone and they resided in the Gladstone area since.
Alda was a member of the First Lutheran Church and its’ Women’s Circle. In addition, she was a member of the Gladstone Senior Citizen Organization and was active in volunteer work in the community. Playing the organ, oil painting, cooking, baking, and sewing were some of her favorite past-times and hobbies. Traveling, especially in their retirement years, created many fond memories for Alda and Arnie. She also enjoyed “keeping up with the times”, and she continued her education which included taking computer classes.

2 daughters- Darlene (James) Fehl of Gladstone; Sheryl Littlejohn of Michigan City, Indian
1 Brother- Robert (Deloris) Leadman of Stonington
1 Sister- Dorothy Erickson of Gladstone
4 Grandchildren; Robby, Kevin, Angela, and Jay,
3 Great-grandchildren; Justin, Alex, and Camden,
and by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Alda was preceded in death by three sisters; Mildred Nye, Jenny Winchester, and Ethel Helman.
The family of Alda E. Anderson will receive friends on Thursday at the First Lutheran Church in Gladstone from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Service celebrating her life will follow on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church with Rev. Jonathan Schmidt officiating. Everyone is invited to luncheon following services in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be in the Fernwood Cemetery. The Skradski-Boyce Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Anderson family
