Willard Campbell
Resided in Gladstone, MI
Died June 3, 2009


Willard Robert Campbell, Sr. age 73, passed away on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital. Willard was born June 4th, 1935 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to Richard and Azella (MacInnis) Campbell.

He married the former Nancy Myrick on September 7th, 1957 in Sault St. Marie. His family and his pets were his life. In addition, Willard loved the outdoors which included hunting and fishing. Fixing things was another past-time he enjoyed. During his working life, Willard was employed at the Red Owl Grocery Store and later at Super One Foods. Patrons at these stores remember him for his kindness and concern in serving them. Willard retired in 2002.

He was a long-time member of the Memorial United Methodist and a member of the Teamsters Union.

2 Daughters- Cheryl (David) LaCarte of Cornell; Sandra Campbell of Gladstone

2 Sons-Willard Campbell of Piedmont, South Carolina; Richard (Melanie) Campbell of Bark River

Grandchildren- Ashlee, Paven, Mary Ann, Kristina, Isaac, Isabel, David, Dylan, and Ricky

and by one great-granddaughter, Peytyn,and by nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his brother, Earl (Verna) Campbell of Sault St. Marie and by his sister, Lois (Jim) Roo of Sault St. Marie.
In addition to his parents, and his parents-in-law, Joseph and Viola Myrick, Willard was preceded in death by brothers, Neil and Alden Campbell, and by a sister, Lila Fournier.

The family of Willard R. Campbell will receive friends on Sunday at the Memorial United Methodist Church in Gladstone from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Service celebrating Willard’s life will follow on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at the Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Jackie Roe officiating. Luncheon will follow services in the church fellowship hall. Buial will be in the Fernwood Cemetery. In honor of Willard’s love of animals, the family requests in lieu of flowers memorials be directed to the Delta County Animal Shelter. Envelopes will be available at church during visitation or at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Homes of Delta County who are assisting the Campbell family.
