John Wolfram

John Wolfram, age 85, of 4378 St. Nicholas 31st road, Rock, MI (formally of Batavia, Illinois) passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 4, 2009 at his daughter’s residence in Rock.

John was born June 19, 1923 in Aurora, IL to John L. and Ollie (Darling) Wolfram Sr. He graduated from East Aurora High School. He served his country proudly during World War II as a MP in the United States Army Air Corps. He was united in marriage to Helen Onak in 1946; their union lasted more than 55 years. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Perkins and the Rock Senior Center. He was also a member of CBI, Moose International, the VFW, and the Knights of Columbus all of Illinois. John enjoyed his rose garden and was a test grower for Jackson-Perkins Flower Company. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling, camping, being outdoors and working on his lawn.

John is survived by

His son John “Jack” (Sue) Wolfram of Walnut Creek, CA

His daughter Janice (John) Alberston of Rock, MI

Three grandchildren Brett Wolfram, Rebecca (R.J.) Radler, Jeff (Elaine) Albertson

Numerous nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his wife Helen, his parents, and two sisters Mildred and Ruth.

The Wolfram family will receive friends on Monday, June 8 from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the Grace Church in Gladstone. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 pm at the church with Rev. Dr. Stephen Patrick officiating. A luncheon will be served immediately following services in the church fellowship hall. John will be laid to rest in the River Hills Cemetery in Batavia, IL. Memorial contributions in John’s name may be directed to the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Perkins or the Grace Church in Gladstone. The Wolfram Family is being assisted by the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.
