James Norman

James E. Norman Sr., 72, an Escanaba native, died July 8, 2009, at Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee.

Born Nov. 4, 1936, to Uno and Ruth Norman, he had worked in construction as a finisher. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and met his wife, Catherine, while stationed in England. They married and had both of their children during his overseas assignment.

He lived in Escanaba, Kansas, Illinois and Milwaukee during his career, and retired with his son in Virginia in 1996. He moved with the family to Nevada in 1998 and lived there until his return to Milwaukee in 2006.

His son, James E. (Jean) Norman Jr. of Henderson, Nev.

Grandchildren John Cataract ,Michelle (Brian) Hinterthuer, and Jennifer Martin, all of Milwaukee, and James R. (Janiece) Norman of Henderson, Nev.

Great-grandchildren Brian Hinterthuer II, Jenna Hinterthuer, Damien Martin and Mia Keller of Milwaukee

Sisters Jewel Shortridge, Roberta (Roger) Payne, and Jeanne (Reynold) Knuuttila

Many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine “Kitty” Norman, daughter, Ruth Lofton and sister’s Jeannette “Dolly” and Theresa.

Visitation is scheduled for Saturday July 18, 2009 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of James E. Norman Sr. will follow at 11:00 AM at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan Schmidt of the First Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Escanaba.
