Steve M. Malnar, age 89, of N1060 Trenary Avenue, Trenary passed away on Saturday evening, August 1, 2009 at Marquette General Hospital.

Steve was born December 18, 1919 in Mathias Township to Antonne and Anne (Stiglich) Malnar. Steve remained a lifelong resident of the area except for the time he spent serving his country in the United States Army.  He was united in marriage to Theresa Slambo on August 14, 1946 in Trenary.  Steve was a loving father and husband. He was very intelligent, had an entrepreneurial spirit and capable of doing many things. He also enjoyed visiting with people. These were all important character traits as he and Theresa became successful in business as owners of the Mileage Service Station, the Silver Dollar Bar and the Snow Bird Motel. Steve and Theresa were also beautiful dancers.

His daughter, Sharon Theresa (Jerry) Martin of Mont Belvieu, Texas

Sisters-in-law, Marion Malnar of Detroit and Pauline Webber of Trenary

A Special Friend, Millie Delgard of Trenary whom the family extends their gratitude for helping Steve and Theresa over the years

He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa on February 7, 2009, a grandson, James Reamer, his parents, three brothers, Dan, Mike and Tony Malnar and a sister, Ann Malnar.

Graveside services for Steve will be Saturday, August 29 at 1:00 PM at the Trenary Cemetery with Dennis Lancour officiating.
