Karen Jean Cole, age 66, of 1403 2nd Avenue North, Gladstone, passed away Sunday afternoon, October 11, 2009, at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.
Karen was born December 11, 1942, in Hazel Park, MI, the daughter of Orville and Irene (Papineau) Pelletier. Karen was raised in the Nahma/St. Jacques area and attended and graduated from the Nahma Schools. On April 27, 1968, Karen was united in marriage to Robert L. Cole and eventually the couple made their home and raised their family in Gladstone. Throughout her life, Karen worked primarily as a homemaker. Robert preceded Karen in death on August 21, 1994. Karen was a member of the All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone. She enjoyed completing crossword puzzles, cooking, baking and spending time with her family, grandchildren and dog, “Sterling”.

Son: Gary (Isabelle) Cole of Portsmouth, New Hampshire
Daughter: Theresa Doneau of Rapid River, MI
Brother: Richard (Joanne) Pelletier of Mayer, AZ
Sister: Lorelei of Delta County
Also listed among the surviving family are 7 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private visitation and funeral services for Karen will be held mid-week at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Committal will be in the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Cole family with arrangements.
