Paul Alan Vallier, 47, of Rock, (formerly of Gladstone) lost his courageous battle with cancer on Saturday evening October 3, 2009 at his parent’s residence in Rock.

Paul was born July 23, 1962 in Escanaba the son of Gerald “Jerry” and Maxine (Kalishek) Vallier. He was raised in Gladstone where he graduated from Gladstone High School in 1980. While in High School he played football and wrestled.

Paul enjoyed watching his 3 nephews wrestle. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and being with his friends.

Paul is survived by his parents, Jerry and Maxine of Rock

Daughter; Alyse (Aaron) Vallier-Carver of Peshtigo, WI

Brothers; Clifford Vallier of Detroit and Scott (Amy) Vallier of Gladstone

Sister; Allison (Bear) Vallier of Sault Ste Marie, MI

Nephews; Matthew Vallier, Timothy (Amber) Vallier, Joel Vallier, Lucas Flygare, Gerry Vallier and Bobby Vallier.

Nieces; Lacy (Troy) Smith and Lindsey Flygare

Great nieces and nephews; Anthony, Sutton, Adrianna and Meadow and many aunts and uncles.

Paul was preceded in death by a special friend, Kelly Simmons and his grandparents, Clifford and Georgina “Toots” Kalishek and Joseph and Alice Vallier.

Paul’s family will receive friends on Friday October 9, 2009 from 2:00 to 5:30 PM E.S.T. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 6:30 PM at the St. Joseph Church in Perkins with Rev. Fr. Jacek Wtyklo officiating. Luncheon will follow in the St. Joseph Church Parish Hall. Burial will be in the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Paul may be directed to the O.S.F. Hospice. Paul’s family would like to thank the O.S.F. Hospice Team, especially Pat, Marci and Robin.
