Venetia Ann Bryers, passed away peacefully, in her sleep early Saturday morning on February 27, 2010. She was 58 and has suffered from cardiac and blood pressure problems for a number of years.
Venetia was preceded in death by her mother, LaVerne (Hinze) Bryers and father, Wayne Bryers. She leaves behind her brother, Dirk Manson and his wife, Susan, with whom she was especially close. Nephews, Bert (Mary) Manson and David (Cheryl Marie) Manson, great nieces and nephews, Jaena, Jeremy, Joshua, Robert, Siera and Mitchell. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Other than family, Venetia was blessed to have a number of very special “loves in her life”, David and Barbara Nemacheck and their daughters, Debbie, Chris and Sherri. Their love and support through the years helped her become the kind of person of which we can all be proud.
Other special loves she would want mentioned are faithful friends, Norma Semashko and Peg Erickson. Two people who stand out among Venetia’s many, many friends.
Venetia was a real animal lover, especially for dogs. She had several companions during her lifetime, the latest being “Cello’ who will miss her dearly. Love and care for these dogs (more like family members), gifted her with a close relationship with Marlene Mackie and her staff at the Escanaba Veterinary Clinic.
Of all of Venetia’s “loves’, her work came first. She dedicated most of her life to delivering quality Emergency Medical Service (EMS) to the people in Delta County and the U.P. She built Rampart EMS from a small “family” operation to a respected, accredited, Advanced Life Support Ambulance Service.
After Rampart became a part of the Marquette General Health System, she remained CEO, and was constantly working to improve the Emergency Medical Services in the area. She cared deeply for and she was proud of her staff.
She influenced the quality of EMS at the State and National levels, serving on a number of Advisory Boards, Committees and Commissions, all with the same goal, to deliver first class Emergency Medical Service to those in need.
Because of her work with EMS, she built lasting personal and professional relationships with many in the Medical Community, most notably, Dr. Steve Dosh. With their help and support she has touched, literally, thousands of lives.
Venetia contributed to the general welfare of the community through her membership on a variety of boards and civic organizations. She served on the Delta-Menominee Public Health Board, Delta County Emergeny Response-911, All Saints Church Finance Committee, BayBank Board of Directors, Salvation Army Advisory Board, EMT and AEMT First Responder Instructor Coordinator, UPEMS Corp. Board of Directors, Michigan Association of Ambulance Services, and she also served as Assistant Medical Examiner Investigator for Delta County and she was involved at the State level since 1970, where she helped develop rules and laws for new professionals in the EMS field.
Also, she helped develop rules & "regulations" for new professionals.
Venetia was a faithful Christian and she was blessed with many talents. Like the trustworthy servant in Matthew 24:21, she will hear from her Savior, “Well done, good and faithful servant”.
