Leocadia M. “Lottie” Brzezinski, age 93, passed away peacefully Saturday morning March 6, 2010 at the Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba where she currently resided.

Lottie was born June 21, 1916, in Montreal, Canada, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Iwauczyk) Kucharski. Lottie was raised in Hamtramck, MI in Detroit. On February 9, 1935, Lottie was united in marriage to Edward Brzezinski, in Hamtramck, and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Detroit. Edward preceded Lottie in death on March 7, 1971. Following Edward’s death, Lottie moved to Escanaba to be closer to her family and has remained in Delta County since. Lottie worked as a homemaker throughout her life. In addition, she spent over 33 years of her life as an active member of the Escanaba Senior Center. She enjoyed playing cards and in her younger years, painting. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include:

3 Sons: Tom (Christina Kionka) Brzezinski of Iron Mountain, MI; Edward (Emma) Brzezinski of Hermansville, MI; Ronald (Sharon) Brzezinski of Wilmette, IL

1 Sister: Helen Moore of Lima, OH

Additional survivors include, 8 grandchildren and many loving great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lottie was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary, husband Edward and brothers, Joseph and Marion Kuchars.

Memorial services to celebrate the life of Leocadia M. “Lottie” Brzezinski will be conducted by her family at a future date and time. The Brzezinski family respectfully request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contribution be directed to the Bishop Noa Home, 2900 3rd Avenue South Escanaba, MI 49829. Committal will take place at a later date at the Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, MI. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are in care of arrangements.
