Myrtle Hite
Resided in Gladstone, MI
Died March 2, 2010


Myrtle V. Hite, age 94, of the Lakeview Assisted Living in Gladstone, passed away Tuesday March 2, 2010 at the Dickinson County Hospital in Iron Mountain.
 
Myrtle was born September 28, 1915 in Escanaba the daughter of Michael and Amanda (Nance) LaCrosse.  Myrtle was united in marriage to Thomas A. Hite on August 22, 1939.  Following their marriage, they resided in Gladstone where they raised their family.
 
Active in Girl Scouts, Myrtle was a scout leader for 14 years.  She also volunteered for the OSF Hospital Auxiliary for over 40 years.  Myrtle was also involved for 45 years with the Home Extension and she was very active with the R.S.V.P.  Myrtle also attended Memorial United Methodist Church and the Gladstone Senior Citizens Center.
 
Myrtle’s hobbies included crocheting and working Crossword and Sudoku puzzles.  Known for her positive attitude and wide smile, she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Son: Thomas G. (Cher) Hite of West Allis, WI
 
Daughter: Nancy (Bill) Adams of Portland, MI
 
4 grandchildren, Chris (Tracy) Hite, Derrick (Crystal) Hite, Patrick (Sharon) Adams and Todd (Martha) Adams, 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
In addition to her parents, Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband Thomas on January 1, 1997, 3 brothers, August, Henry, and Orville, and 5 sisters, Mary Beaudoin, Patricia Dubord, Ida Anderson, Rose Carroll and Leona Miner.
 
Myrtle’s family will receive friends on Monday March 8, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 12 noon at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.  Funeral services celebrating the life of Myrtle V. Hite will follow at 1:00 PM at the Memorial United Methodist Church in Gladstone with Rev. Jackie Row officiating.  Luncheon will follow in Smith Hall.  Burial will be in Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Memorial United Methodist Church or to the Delta County Cancer Alliance.  Use the form below to express your sympathy to the Hite family, or to leave a memory tribute about Myrtle.
