Marlene Frischman

Marlene K. Frischman, age 67, of 1420 18th Avenue South, passed away peacefully at her home in Escanaba, Wednesday evening June 23, 2010, following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.

Marlene was born March 22, 1943, in Medford, WI, the daughter of Ronald and Grace (Schwoch) Warner. Marlene was raised in Wisconsin Rapids and was a 1960 graduate of the Wisconsin Rapids Senior High School. On July 1, 1961, Marlene was united in marriage to Leon Frischman, in Medford, WI, and together the couple made their home, began their family and spent the next 26 years in Minneapolis, Minnesota area. In 1982, Marlene and Leon relocated to Escanaba where they have remained since. Marlene worked primarily as a homemaker throughout her life. In addition, she belonged to the Bethany Lutheran Church in Escanaba and enjoyed collecting miniature doll houses and antiques. Marlene loved music. She was an exceptional accordion player and at the young age of 14 was featured on a weekly radio show where she expressed her accordion talent. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.

Son: Steven Frischman of Milwaukee, WI

Daughter: Leah (Jeff) Brown of Defuniak Springs, FL

Grandson: Andrew Brown

many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Grace and sister, Ronna Frischman.
Marlene’s family will receive friends on Sunday June 27, 2010, from 12:00PM to 2:00PM, at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Marlene K. Frischman will follow visiting hours, at 2:00PM, at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home, with Pastor Judy Kincaid of the Immanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Marlene will be laid to rest in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery following funeral services. Luncheon will follow committal rites at the Hereford and Hops Restaurant.
