OBITUARIES

Norma Hutchinson
Resided in Gladstone, MI
Died June 18, 2010

Norma Jean Hutchinson, age 71, of 415 S. 4th Street, Gladstone passed away Friday, June 18, 2010 at the Christian Park Health Care Center in Escanaba following a brief illness.

Norma Jean was born on Sept. 14, 1938. She was raised by Tom and Ruby Deloria of Newberry, MI along with other siblings.  Her childhood is not well known – she claimed to have originated from Italy the daughter of Mario “Perp” and  Emily Perpoli.  Yet, most of her days she spent in the U. P. having lived in Sault Saint Marie, Manistique, Newberry, Hulbert, Lanse, Escanaba and Gladstone.  She married four times and conceived three children- Nancy, Charles and Douglas.  The hardships of life were not absent from her days – but through them she came to trust Jesus Christ.  Pastor Strolle of Hulbert, had declared to her the sacrifice of Jesus on Calvary’s cross and assisted her in faith to claim God’s Son as her Savior. This grace of God became her certainty for forgiveness and eternal living.  As she would say “where would I be without the Lord”.  She was a part of the membership of Berean Baptist Church.  On June 18th, God ushered her home.

She was preceded in death by three husbands, Charles Menominee, Carl Villeneuve and Dominic Shelafoe, her son Douglas, her parents and most of her siblings.

She is survived by her husband Terry Hutchinson, her children Nancy and Charles, a brother, 5 grandchildren and a good neighbor, Dorothy.

Memorial services for Norma will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 24 at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba with Pastor Darin Kelsey officiating.
