Margaret Cecelia Therrian, age 91, of Bayview Manor in Gladstone passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the Christian Park Health Care Center in Escanaba after a courageous battle with cancer.
Margaret was born September 8, 1918 in Escanaba, Michigan the daughter of James and Bertha Cousineau. She was united in marriage to Edward Therrian in 1938. Edward preceded her in death in 1988. After raising her family, Margaret worked at the Red Owl Pharmacy for 12 years and as a Senior Companion for 25 years at the Christian Park Village. Margaret’s hobbies and interests included camping, playing cribbage, family gatherings, listening to country music, dancing, roller skating, sewing and doing crafts. She also loved going fishing and traveling the back roads and stopping to have a picnic lunch with her friend and long time companion, Ben Wils.
Margaret is survived by four children, Barbara (Donald) LaCroix of Gladstone, James (Bonnie) Therrian of Escanaba, Robert (Janice) Therrian of Watson and William Therrian of Troy, MI; two sisters, Arlene (James) Castle and Katherine Fudala, both of Escanaba; one brother, Donald (Dolores) Cousineau of Escanaba;10 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Rood, grandson, Jeffery Therrian, sister, Ruby Chouinard and two brothers, Robert and Raymond Cousineau.
The Therrian family will receive friends on Thursday, June 24 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6:00 PM at the All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone with Rev. Fr. Arnold Grambow officiating. Luncheon will immediately follow services in the church fellowship hall. Margaret will be laid to rest in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
