Ronald Carroll

Ronald C. Carroll, age 70, of 4973 Paula Street; Escanaba (Danforth area) passed away on Wednesday, July 28th, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital.

Ronald was born May 8th, 1940 in Pontiac, Michigan to Kenneth and Bernita (Jenkinson) Carroll. In 1957, he joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at K.I. Sawyer A.F. B. and in Battle Creek and also in Thailand and Japan. Ron proudly served his country for twenty years, receiving a number of medals, citations, and awards.

Ron was united in marriage to the former Ruby K. Kutches on August 27th, 1965 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Escanaba. After retiring from the Air Force as a Master Sergeant, Ron and his family moved to the Escanaba area and subsequently began his employment at “Mead Paper” and he later retired from that corporation.

In addition to hunting and fishing, Ron enjoyed watching hockey and football, and he particularly was an avid Detroit Lions fan. His family fondly remembers Ron taking pleasure in the outdoors which included his hobby of vegetable gardening.         

In addition to his wife, Ruby, Ronald Carroll’s survivors include:

4 Daughters- Michelle Carroll of Chicago; Patti (Mike) VanHeuvelen of Grand Rapids; Kathy Carroll of Escanaba; Lisa (Dominic) Carroll-Magliocco of Ypsilanti,

His special grandson, Logan Carroll,       

A sister, Shirley (Dan) Keesling of Lapeer, MI,

Brothers, Dennis (Barb) Carroll of Johannesburg, MI; Raymond Carroll of Auburn Heights, MI; Jeff Carrol of Waterford, MI,

An uncle, Arthur Jenkinson; an aunt Regina (Tom) Jenkinson, and several cousins,nieces, and nephews.

The famiy of Ronald C. Carroll will receive friends on Monday at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with Military Rites being conducted at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home by the Delta County Veterans Council. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 5:00 p.m. Monday at St. Anne Church in Escanaba with Rev Fr. Fran DeGroot officiating. Luncheon will follow Mass in the St. Anne Parish Hall. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
