Elizabeth M. “Liz” Ebbesen, age 94, of 401 Minnesota Avenue, Gladstone, passed away Tuesday July 20, 2010 at the Christian Park Village, in Escanaba, where she has resided for the past two and a half years.
Liz was born September 15, 1915, in Gladstone, the daughter of Frank and Rose (Brockaert) Snowaert. She was raised in Gladstone and attended the Gladstone schools. On August 30, 1940, Liz was united in marriage to Harold Ebbesen, in Gladstone, and together the couple made their home, raised their family and spent their entire lives in Gladstone. Liz worked primarily as a homemaker throughout her life. In addition, she was employed at the Log Cabin Restaurant and the Gladstone Bakery. Liz was a faithful member of the First Lutheran Church, in Gladstone, where she belonged to the First Lutheran Alter Guild, Charity Circle, Sewing Circle and the Women’s Dart Ball League. Following retirement, Liz and Harold enjoyed going bowling. She will be deeply missed.

3 Sons: Roger (Judy) Ebbesen of Burlington, WI; Jerry (Carol) Ebbesen of Gladstone, MI; Rick (Judy) Ebbesen of Gladstone, MI
7 Grandchildren: Jodi, Jeff, Bill, Brian, Joy, Mark and Kevin
Also listed among the surviving family are 7 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special nephew, Bill.
Liz was preceded in death by her parent, Frank and Rose; husband, Harold in April of 1990; 4 brothers, Jack, Paul, Charles and Donald; 3 sisters, Rose, Mary and Joyce.
Elizabeth’s family will receive friends on Friday, from 3:00PM to 5:00PM, at the First Lutheran Church in Gladstone. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Elizabeth M. Ebbesen will follow visitation, at 5:00PM, at the First Lutheran Church, with Pastor Jean Schmidt officiating. Luncheon will follow in the First Lutheran Fellowship Hall. Liz will be laid to rest on Monday, at 9:30AM, at the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone. Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Lutheran Church Alter Guild. Envelopes will be available at the First Lutheran Church throughout visitation.
