Theodore “Ted” Erickson, age 81 of 2nd Avenue North in Gladstone passed away on Sunday evening, July 4, 2010 surrounded by family.
Ted was born May 11, 1929 in Gladstone, the son of Theodore Sr. and Anna Erickson. He graduated from Gladstone High School in 1947 and remained a lifelong resident. Ted was united in marriage to Betty Norden on December 16, 1950 at the First Lutheran Church in Gladstone. Ted worked as a tool and die maker for Marble Arms in Gladstone for over 20 years and then worked at Mead Paper Company for 20 years until his retirement in 1991.After retiring he continued to enjoy going to Marble Arms and being a part of their organization. Ted was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Gladstone and enjoyed playing in the dart ball league for several years. Ted was a gun smith and also enjoyed golfing with his friends in Nahma, hunting on Donald’s farm, loved playing pool, and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. He helped build all his daughters homes as well as his own. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren.

9 grandchildren: Sherri Fletcher, David Fletcher, Ryan Bouchard, Kristi (Andrew) Judge, Philip (Heather) DeMay, Matthew Wiltzius, Daniel Wiltzius, Dinah (Noahh) Gerard, Holly Hadel
8 Great grandchildren
3 Great-Great grandchildren
1 sister, Thelma (the late Ken) Cannon of Royal Oak, MI, one brother Bob (Betty)Erickson, and a very special cousin Donald (Charlotte) Erickson.
Numerous nieces and nephews
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Richard, Carl and Marvin.
The Erickson family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 7 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Skradski-Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 PM at the First Lutheran Church with Pastor Jonathan Schmidt officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow services in the church fellowship hall. Ted will be laid to rest in the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone. The Erickson family is being assisted by the Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes.
