Elizabeth Koski

Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Koski, age 68, of 14360 West Street, Rock, MI passed away Friday morning July 23, 2010 at her residence following a lengthy illness.
 
Elizabeth was born August 27, 1941 in Escanaba, MI the daughter of Arnold “Andy” and Aurelia (Rabideau) Sayen.  Betty was raised in Rock where she attended and participated in cheerleading at the Rock Public Schools.  She was a 1959 graduate of Rock High School.  Following graduation, Betty attended and graduated from the Badger Business School in Green Bay, WI.
 
Betty was united in marriage to David Koski on February 3, 1962 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Perkins.  They made their home in Rock where they raised their three children.  Betty was the Post Master for the Perkins Post Office, retiring in 1992.
 
Betty was an active member of the Faith Lutheran Church where she was involved with WELCA and assisted with many church activities.  She was also a member of the Rock American Legion Auxiliary #559 and the Red Hat Society.
 
Betty’s hobbies included gambling, going to the casino, playing cards and bowling.  She especially enjoyed going to camp where she won many contests of having the biggest buck during hunting season.  Her biggest enjoyment came from attending and cheering on her children and grandchildren at local sporting events.  She will fondly be remembered by her family as always being heard in the stands by her children and sometimes by the referee’s.   She also collected tickets for many years for Rock and Mid-Pen sporting events.  Betty will be sadly missed
 
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, David.
 
2 sons: David (Colleen) Koski of Green Bay and Dean (Julie) Koski of Rock
 
Daughter: Julie Koski of Rock
 
Sister: Sharon (Bob) Herchenboch  of Wisconsin
 
Step-brother: Edward Sayen of Florida
 
8 grandchildren: Stephen, Andy, Mitchell, Owen, Holly, Carly, Cheveney and Landry.
 
Numerous nieces, nephews and 2 cousins.
 
In addition to her parents Andy and Aurelia, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Florence (McClain) who also helped raise Betty. 
 
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the Faith Lutheran Church in Rock.  Funeral services celebrating the life of Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Koski will follow at 2:00 PM at the Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Corinne Johnson officiating.  Luncheon will follow in the Faith Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall.  Betty's family request that memorial contributions be made to the Rock E.M.T. New Building Fund.
