Lisa Myers was born and raised in Seymour, Wisconsin. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Psychology and Spanish, from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. A Master of Divinity degree from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary gave her additional counseling classes and exposed her to the teachings of many different faiths, including a wide range of theologies about death issues.
Working as a chaplain in the intensive care unit at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Hospital in Chicago has also brought her face-to-face with many death experiences. Attending the American Academy of Bereavement in Buffalo, New York, in May 2002 was a wonderful opportunity to bring all these experiences together, especially in the wake of
9-11.
Lisa's husband John, a native of Escanaba, is retired from the Navy. They have three children, age 7, 4 and 5 months.
